Saida Djarbolova Appointed to the Board of Directors of AFSA

Saida Djarbolova, an experienced financial sector professional, joins the Board of Directors of the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) as a new Independent Non-Executive Director, Member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and Member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board. The appointment was approved by the AIFC Governor’s Order and took effect on September 5, 2026.

Her extensive executive and board-level experience, combined with a deep understanding of financial markets across Europe and Central Asia, will bring valuable perspectives to our discussions and further strengthen the Board’s expertise. Saida Djarbolova is a highly accomplished corporate leader with over three decades of international experience in banking, corporate finance, and strategic transformation across Europe and Central Asia. She currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director in a Kazakhstani financial institution and a UK-listed company. 

Before she transitioned to board roles, she spent over two decades in senior executive positions within the ING Group. Her notable leadership roles include Head of Transformation for the EMEA region in Amsterdam, where she oversaw strategic and compliance operations across 26 countries, as well as Chief Executive Officer of ING Bank Ukraine and Country Head of ING Kazakhstan. Her profound expertise in financial risk management, regulatory compliance, corporate banking, and ESG strategy brings significant institutional value to the Board.
