The application process
Once again, please carefully review the guidance on the registration process before completing your application.
OPTION # 1:
ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION
Begin by creating your profile — the process is simple and straightforward. Just follow these four steps:
1) Open the AIFC Digital Resident Portal;
2) Provide a valid email address;
3) Verify email address;
4) Login* to the Portal using the email and start the registration.
Standard forms will be available within the system. Just follow the guided steps to complete each section. Please ensure that all documents uploaded with your application are in PDF format.
In case the application does not comply with all the requirements, the AFSA Registration Division will request updated information.
* Users from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania may use Smart ID for authentication.
OPTION # 2:
OFFLINE (PAPER) SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION
After preparing and signing all the required documents, please follow these steps for submission:
- Scan all signed documents, including the completed application form and supporting materials.
- Submit the scanned documents via email to the Registration Division at [email protected].
Ensure that all documents are correctly signed and certified, as incomplete or incorrectly filled applications may cause delays in processing.
If an adviser or consultant is assisting you with the application, please provide a valid Power of Attorney authorising them to act on your behalf.

Note that all of the legal entities (exceptions apply to Special Purpose Company) must conduct its principal business activity in the AIFC, unless otherwise permitted by the Registrar.

PROCESSING TIME
The expected timeframe for company registration is as follows:
For online applications submitted through the platform without errors or resubmission requests, company is typically completed within 1 hour to 1 day.
- For offline applications: registration takes approximately 3–5 business days.
If additional assessment is required, you may be requested to provide additional documents. In such instances, the registration process may take up to 1 month.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICATIONS
If we approve your application and it gets registered, these are the next steps.
1. We add you to the Public Register
Once registered, your firm will be automatically added to our Public Register. You will also be issued a unique Business Identification Number (BIN) that uniquely identifies your firm.
2. We write to you
We will send you a confirmation of your registration, and the certificate of incorporation will be available in your profile on the Digital Resident Platform.
3. You have some ongoing obligations:
AIFC Participants are required to submit a set of reports to the Registrar of Companies each year in accordance with the applicable Regulations and Rules. Learn more about Annual Filings.
Notify the Registrar of Companies of any changes to the company’s structure, directors, shareholders, or other relevant details promptly, as required by the AIFC regulations. Learn more about Post-registration services.
Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable AIFC regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) obligations.
Retain an active registered office within the AIFC’s designated territory and active registered email address for official correspondence and legal notices.
