Aliya Zhumabek

Aliya Zhumabek is an established law professional whose careers includes roles at GE, international law firms and recently at AFSA.

Throughout her career, she provided legal counsel on a variety of transactions in the mining, oil and gas, and transportation sectors, including structuring, negotiating, closing, and conducting complex due diligence.

Aliya joined AFSA in 2020 and since then she was mainly involved in the development of the regulatory framework and the management of legal risks and provision of legal advice and support for all AFSA operations. Her prominent accomplishments include contribution to the enhancement of numerous frameworks, including the AIFC Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting of the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) regime, the AIFC Asset Management framework, AIFC Legal Entities framework and others.
